In the Wilderlands, pregnancy is complicated even under the best of circumstances. Medical care is nearly non-existent, food is often scarce, and safety precarious. While most expectant mothers are lucky to have access to even the most basic of magic, those with greater access take greater risks.

In general, spells that target individuals are more dangerous than those that target areas, and gross physical transformations and crossing planar boundaries are especially perilous. Once the mother enters labor, transformative magics become particularly dangerous.

To fully understand which spells are dangerous and why would require a Heal check and a Knowledge (arcana) check and some research (details TBD).
