The citadel of Wyrmwatch is a small site, dominated by the legendary Tower of Wyrmwatch. The tower is home to a powerful elven wizard, part of an unbroken dynasty that has occupied the tower for many centuries. The arch-wizard of Wyrmwatch has a few students and acolytes, and several dozen peasants and craftsmen live at the base of the tower.

The wizard and his followers are scholarly and private, ill-inclined to work with wandering adventurers. It is said that they work to maintain ancient wards to keep a powerful dragon demi-god bound and asleep deep beneath the tower. The tower is believed to have an extensive library, though the wizards’ attitude is indifferent to most contact (occasionally friendly to other elven wizards).

The arch-wizard and his predecessors are remembered for various heroic deeds, which largely center around protecting the tower and its immediate environs from brigands and conspirators.
